Cimer Amor and I have been recording songs together since around 2003-2004. This song was the first single to his solo project "Taking Nowhere Somewhere" that he recently released. When he first sent me the beat, I knew I liked it because it had those hard drums and that blues guitar. I think this is probably the first and only verse I pieced together in my head without writing down. I remember just saying these lines into my digital recorder until I had it memorized. Props to the guys who can do it, but I care barely remember anything if I don't write it down, so back to the pen and pad for me. We tracked the beat and recorded my verse at Scott Stallone's studio in South Philly. Cimer hit up Burke, Torae, and DJ Waxwork for verses and cuts and it all came together real dope. We did a little throwback tribute to RUN-DMC with the cover. Boom-Bap Hip Hop at it's finest!
